5 Yard Bin — For Heavy Materials Only
Price: $400 flat rate (all-in)
Dimensions: 12’L x 8’W x 2’H
The 5 yard bin is a specialty bin designed exclusively for heavy materials like dirt, concrete, gravel, rock, and asphalt. It’s not for general junk or renovation debris it’s built for the weight that would destroy a standard bin.
If you’re breaking up a concrete driveway, removing landscaping boulders, or excavating soil, this is your bin. The flat $400 rate covers disposal with no surprise tonnage fees.
Best for:
- Concrete removal
- Dirt and soil excavation
- Gravel and rock disposal
- Asphalt tear-out
Not for: general renovation waste, furniture, drywall, or mixed debris.
15 Yard Bin — The Most Popular Residential Size
Price: $200 online | 1.5 ton package $450
Dimensions: 14’L x 8’W x 5’H
The 15 yard bin is our most-booked size for a reason it hits the sweet spot for most residential projects in Calgary. It fits in most driveways, holds a significant amount of material, and at $200 it’s the most budget-friendly option for homeowners.
If you’re cleaning out a basement, doing a bathroom renovation, replacing flooring, or clearing out years of accumulated clutter, the 15 yard bin handles it comfortably.
Best for:
- Basement or garage cleanouts
- Single room renovations
- Flooring replacement
- Attic cleanouts
- Small landscaping projects
- Moving cleanouts
How much does it hold? Think of it as roughly 4-5 full pickup truck loads of debris.
Pro tip: If your project involves a lot of drywall or bulky items like furniture, go with the 20 yard they take up space faster than you’d expect.
20 Yard Bin — The Contractor’s Go-To
Price: $250 online | 2 ton package $575
Dimensions: 14’L x 8’W x 6’H
The 20 yard bin is the workhorse of our fleet. It’s the right call for larger residential projects and the most common size for Calgary contractors doing renovations, additions, and light demolition work.
The extra foot of height compared to the 15 yard makes a significant difference you can fit bulky materials without worrying about the load line, and the 2-ton package pricing makes it cost-effective for heavy loads.
Best for:
- Full kitchen or bathroom gut renovations
- Deck removal and replacement
- Roofing tear-offs (shingles and underlayment)
- Basement development
- Small commercial cleanouts
- Multi-room renovations
How much does it hold? Roughly 6-8 pickup truck loads. A typical roofing tear-off on a 1,500 sq ft Calgary home fits comfortably.
30 Yard Bin — For Large-Scale Projects
Price: $325 online
Dimensions: 16’L x 8’W x 6’H
The 30 yard bin is our largest size and the right call when you’re dealing with a major project full home demolitions, large estate clean-outs, commercial waste removal, or any job where you know volume is going to be a challenge.
Despite being our biggest bin, it’s still driveway-safe and deliverable to most residential and commercial properties across Calgary and surrounding areas.
Best for:
- Full home gut renovations
- Estate and property cleanouts
- Commercial and retail cleanouts
- Large demolition projects
- New construction waste
- Multi-contractor job sites
How much does it hold? Roughly 9-12 pickup truck loads. If you’re unsure whether you need a 20 or 30, and your project involves multiple rooms or an entire floor, go with the 30.
The Rule of Thumb: When In Doubt, Size Up
The most common mistake Calgary homeowners make is underestimating how much waste a project generates. Drywall, flooring, and bulky furniture take up far more space than they look like they will. A bathroom renovation that seems like a 15 yard job often fills a 20.
Sizing up from a 15 to a 20 costs an extra $50. Ordering a second bin because you ran out of space costs a full additional rental. The math is clear.
What Can’t Go in the Bin?
Regardless of size, the following items are not accepted in any of our bins:
- Hazardous materials (paint cans must be sealed, no chemicals)
- Batteries of any kind
- Food waste
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Tires, propane tanks, motor oil
- Weapons or ammunition
Heavy materials like dirt, concrete, and gravel are not allowed in the 15, 20, or 30 yard bins that’s what the 5 yard bin is for.
